ADAH

Adah has been performing since very near the beginning of her personal timeline; having started with acting and singing in church and school, she found nothing was quite as thrilling as being in the limelight! She always wanted to dance, but limited funds made that impossible, so she became a saxophonist and jazz musician instead. Her first "bellydance" was around a SCA campfire, and it was indeed love at first shimmy! In the decades between that campfire and now, she has learned enough to be glad there wasn't video as she's studied and danced all over the US, Egypt, Turkey, and Morocco. Her other interests include studying Persian, flamenco, and ball room, lifting weights, and making plans to backpack the Roman roads through Europe. She hates boring classes and promises not to teach them.
Advanced dance RPM (research/ performance mix) - Thursday @ 6:30 PM
This class runs in series where we will study specific dancers (from all the different styles of bellydance), music, and different performance techniques together in order to enhance our own stage skills. As a group we will determine what makes a performer/style/technique unique, memorable, usable, and appealing, and learn to incorporate those aspects into our own performances. Each class in the series will build from discussion and homework through a choreography and improvisational solo opportunity, which will be gently critiqued by the rest of the class. Build your skills, polish your technique, and grow confident in your own performance style by working with a group of peers. Bring a notebook, water, and comfortable clothes. Most series will be geared dancers with several years study and performance experience.
